Leading the way for freedom

Woman’s Rights are human Rights

I think that Western women will lead the way as an example and more for other women around the world, when it comes to having basic freedoms and human rights. It may not be next year or in the next ten years as it took over thirty-five years to just get simple voting rights into the US constitution. It was the Nineteenth Amendment giving woman the legal right to vote.

We still face subtle and even overt challenges to our power and ability as male privilege is woven into our societies fabric for many generations.

Who ever has the control, wins and runs the show, how they see fit, and it is usually for the one in control for gain.

Now I am not here to talk about men as the enemy or that any one man is to blame. I believe this way of subjugation has been around for a very long time and for a very good reason. We won’t get into that in this article.

In my mind it all boils down to one core thing. Control. Who ever has the control, wins and runs the show, how they see fit, and it is usually for the one in control for gain.

Our world today reflects a masculinist orientation toward competition, war, and domination that has shaped our economic and political reality with a trickle down of suppression, conscious or unconscious. This experience is what we all have bought into, whether we are a victor or a victim.

This worldview and systems has resulted in disrespect for the over all planet and it’s people, and the treatment of earth as an endless resource for industry and profit rather than an ecosystem that supports life and focus on connection and healthy communication.

If we hope to protect ourselves, the planet and ensure the future of life on earth, we must move toward models of intuition, real communication, understanding and cooperation instead.

How do we do that?

How do we get beyond feeling powerless and walking around like nothing is happening?

I say, take time each day to be quiet, ask yourself insightful questions, like, How can I love and understand myself more? How can I serve the whole?

Only you can answer that. Take time to read something other than the news, go to a local non-profit, get educated, ask questions, volunteer. When we take care of self in a healthy way first then reach out we have more to offer. This will give you insights and be present to making a shift for woman, your community and your family’s future.

Not everyones reality is being sexualized, brutalized or objectified but we still are all apart of an old paradigm, that has us looked or treated in a way that maybe doesn’t work and because we might not see it that way, it is still in the culture.

Time for us to speak up, speak out and get involved.

Time to heal our wounds, if need be and support another sister. We are all stronger together and living our passions.
