Silence is deadly (a global mistreatment of women)
The pain and turmoil we are experiencing in our country and in the world is a symptom of a much deeper issue. It is an illness that is sometimes undercover, sometimes not, and it spreads insidiously. It’s a way of being, teaching, or the lack of teaching, but largely it’s people willing to ignore what is a disease. Often, it becomes systemic, resulting in on-going mistreatment of woman, or anyone who sits outside what has been deemed acceptable.
If we were a more expressed society with less focus on judgement, class, or dominating people and the world around us, we might have a healthier chance at healing and being whole in body mind and spirit.
If culture or society see the value in women and each other, we would have more expression, empowerment, and less control and fear. When woman who have been traumatized in life or live in a society that makes them believe they are less than or not important, it is only a matter of time before society breaks down with disastrous consequences.
When woman are not safe to share, or come forth to call a predator to account this is a crime and symptom of a societal illness, it’s a silent disease on the move.
Many woman feel they are not listened to, that they are marginalized and they won’t speak up or come forth.
Women usually face being maligned and often end up being the accused and worse. You are never called brave, you are called a liar, and put on trial for your sins, whatever they might be.
This must end.
Here are just a few of thoughts on what we can do as a group, tribe, or society.
SPEAK UP ( Shine the Light)

EDUCATION ( Share the Light)
When women are provided with education, they’re better equipped to make decisions for themselves, and the cycle of mistreatment, violence, and poverty wanes.
INVESTMENT (Participate in the Light)

BE YOUR OWN WOMAN AND BEST FRIEND ( Be the Light)
Even when you are afraid, push through to speak your truth and lead the world by taking a clear stance against corrupt regimes, companies and predatory people.
One easy way we can support women around the world and at home is to support organizations focused on spreading awareness and assistance to women. Check out award-winning, women-founded organizations such as Girltank, Recovers, Fenugreen, and the Dream Foundation Trust.
