I hosted a Spiritual Spa weekend at my house last week and while we were going into meditation I was hearing the sounds of Crows.
They were circling outside my window in what looked like a murder, cawing with a bold voice of urgency. Their loud soaring voices felt like a personal communication, as if to say, hey! look, wake up! They were so intense it sounded as if they were going to come right through the window and sit on my lap. I though, wow they are amazing and I hope this won’t be a scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s, “The Birds”. Well, I do have a fireplace and hey, ya never know these days. Crows might just fly into my window or down my chimney!
With all that, I went back into my meditation, and then finished the weekend in a transformational spirit flow of joy and a new found renewal of inner communion.
When I had a moment to my self later the next day, I decided to see what Crows might mean symbolically for me and or what other traditions might say about them. So, I will share a bit of what I found that I felt connected to.
As you allow your personal integrity be your guide, your sense of being alone will vanish. Your personal will can then emerge so that you will stand in your truth. The prime path of true Crow people says to be mindful of your opinions and actions. Be willing to walk your talk, speak your truth, know your life’s mission, and balance past, present, and future in the now. Shape-shift that old reality and become your future self. Allow the blending of physical laws to aid in creating the shape-shifted world of peace. (loosely from, Medicine Cards, by Same and Carson)
Reading that it hit me. That keeping a mindful presence firmly in the now, while honoring the past and shooting towards a desired future, is really life in balance. Once again, it’s time to shape-shift again. I felt the Crow wanted me to know that change was present, maybe to shape-shift into a new mindset, a new spirit and new way of being. Yes. To keep evolving into who I truly am and to embrace all that that means no matter what. To stand in my own truth, share it with integrity, and this will shape-shift all my tides.
